STS Events can provide a mobile bar service complete with qualified staff to meet your needs. With the introduction of the Licensing Scotland 2005 Act, it has become increasingly difficult for members of the public to arrange parties, weddings & events for friends & family members in community halls, or other public venues, due to strict licensing legislation introduced in September 2009 (Scotland).
To obtain an alcohol licence now for such an event, you must fit one of the following criteria.
Even where an applicant does fit the criteria above, a licensing board can set further conditions on the licence, to ensure the responsible running of the event and public safety, particularly if they feel the event is high risk.
An example of a high risk event may be 18th or 21st birthday parties, stag/hen parties.
Difficulties that can occur at events and parties can be stressful and traumatic for those involved and can result in emotional, physical and legal consequences.
